5 Cigars to Bring into a Cigar Lounge

Without a doubt, cigar lounges are havens for Cuban cigar enthusiasts. What’s better than being surrounded by like-minded individuals who can enjoy a smoke with you? Cigar lounges are excellent breaks from the hustle and bustle from everyday life. It’s the perfect time and place to sit down and relax, forgetting all of life’s worries. It's usually totally fine to bring your own cigars to a lounge, however, you should consider buying some cigars from their collection to help support the business - just for some common courtesy! Otherwise, here are some Cuban cigars that you can bring with you.

A CIGAR TO INVOKE CURIOSITY

PUNCH DIADEMAS EXTRA - A great way to start a conversation is an eye-catching cigar in your hand. With the Punch Diademas Extra, you are sure to attract some attention from other aficionados. Encased within a gorgeous golden wrapper, the cigar provides a medium-bodied smoke with flavoursome notes. If the shiny wrapper doesn’t get attention, the rarity of the cigar will. Only 1020 boxes were produced, making this cigar extremely rare and hard to find. Once you unravel it from its wrapper, expect to smell aromas of barnyard, hay and chocolate. Then, when you smoke it, you will get a real feel for its complexity.

PAIRING WITH WHISKEY

PARTAGAS SERIE D NO. 4 - For us, we love to pair a glass of whiskey with a quality Cuban cigar. The rule of thumb is that you should always balance the strength and flavour between the two. When ordering a light whiskey, you should always choose a cigar that is also considerably mild. One of our favourite, expertly-selected combinations, is the Partagas Serie D No. 4 with a glass of Dalmore whiskey. The intense yet smooth flavours of the whiskey blend seamlessly with the cigar’s full-flavoured profile, creating a very strong combination.

WITH COCKTAILS OR A GLASS OF BUBBLY

ROMEO Y JULIETA MILLE FLEURS - If you decide to opt for something like a glass of bubbly champagne, or perhaps, a mojito - you should try and pair it with a cigar with sweeter notes to match their fruity flavours. We recommend the Romeo Y Julieta Mille Fleurs. The cigar has notes leathery sweetness, an excellent pairing for a cocktail.

SHARING WITH OTHERS

RAMON ALLONES CLUB CORONAS - When socialising with other aficionados, sometimes you want to share out a cigar. It is a great way to forge relationships while also enjoying a great cigar together. For cigars to share, we’re sure you don’t want to bust out something too expensive, but at the same time, you want to make sure the quality's great. Our recommendation is the Ramon Allones Small Club Coronas. They are small, but full of flavour - expect to find delicious notes of cocoa and vanilla to tantalise your tastebuds! On top of that, they have a great draw and an impeccably smooth wrapper. This cigar is relatively short, making it easy to hand out to mutuals.

FOOL-PROOF, FINAL SMOKE

MONTECRISTO NO 4 - To finish off your day at the cigar lounge, we recommend the undisputed king of Torpedo cigars, the Montecristo No. 4. This cigar is one of the most well-known, and critically acclaimed cigars in the market with only the finest and experienced cigar rollers allowed to wrap it. What better way to end the day than with a quintessential Montecristo cigar? The cigar is full of character, with notes of wood, cream and spice - it’s simply amazing. Give it a go!
