New Release for the Italian Market: Punch ManTua

UNIQUE. COLLECTOR’S ITEM. HIGHLY SOUGHT AFTER.

In March 2020, Habanos S.A. will be releasing a new Regional Edition Cigar, named the ‘Punch ManTua’, a cigar exclusively created for the Italian market. As with all the regional editions, the Punch ManTua is an extremely rare and limited cigar. There are only about 2,000 (final numbers yet to be confirmed) of these boxes produced in total, making it a truly exclusive and one-of-a-kind purchase that deserves a space in every aficionado's cigar collection.

LAGUITO NO. 2 - Following the success of the El Rey del Mundo La Reina, another European importer – Diadema S.P.A. – decided to bet on a thin gauge cigar, proving that the appetite for thinner formats is not at all extinct. The factory name or Vitola de Galera is known as Laguito No. 2 and, as the name suggests, it was originally created in the legendary Cohiba factory in the mid ’60s. Word has it that this was one of El Comandante’s favourite formats (Cohiba Coronas Especiales) along with the Laguito No. 1 (Cohiba Lanceros).

UNIQUE BAND - Another curious thing about this cigar is the design of the anilla, which is something we’ve never seen before, we would assume that it was probably dug out of Habanos archives from the past. This new anilla format consists of a stylish combination of black and gold - a unique new look that greatly differs from Punch’s original design. And of course, this regional edition cigar wouldn't be complete with its secondary red and white 'Exclusivo Italia' band.

FLAVOUR PROFILE - In terms of the ManTua’s flavour profile, you can expect it to be medium-bodied with an incredibly smooth and well-balanced smoke – typical of Punch Cigars. It’s no surprise that this cigar will provide the most exquisite flavours, as every single cigar produced by Punch are ‘Totalmente a Mano con Tripa Larga’, which means that they are entirely made from the finest tobacco leaves from the Vuelta Abajo region in Cuba – a coveted region for the cultivation of high-quality tobacco.

CITY OF MANTUA - The cigar is named after the historic city of Mantua (Mantova in Italian), which is known to be the country's 'Capital of Culture' as of 2016. The city itself is a hub for architectural treasures, natural beauty and the arts - thousands of tourists flock here to marvel at sights of grand palaces, Renaissance-era buildings and its intriguing opera houses. There's no better place to portray luxury than the city of Mantua, and therefore, making it the perfect name for Habanos' latest release.
